After many years and much discussion with our neighbors, the highway department "paved" the road in front of our property.

Paved our road

Pictured is work underway at Polecat creek where it crosses Vigor Rd. Polecat Creek forms the western boundary of our property. It cuts under Vigor Road which crosses out front of our courtyard and gardens. For probably the 3rd time since Twin Oaks started, the creek crossing was torn up and this time rebuilt fully, before paving. Most Twin Oakers didn't want the road paved. Some of our neighbors really wanted it paved. In the end, the paving style selected by the VDOT highway deparment was the lowest impact option: the road was not widened or straightened significantly, and the surface is a rock/tar combination rather than full-blown asphalt.
