Solar lumber kiln. Used for predrying chair lumber (for some years). The wood-fired kiln in the background accomplishes the final drying step. The painted phoenix on the kiln side is a reference to the siding salvaged from a fire that destroyed a previous kiln.
Bandsaw mill. We've sawed a lot of lumber over many years on this Wood Mizer brand band mill, including sawing logs from our woods for cabinets, building siding and trim, etc.
Scrap woodfired lumber kiln. A boiler transfers heat to the inside of this insulated old truck trailer loaded with chair lumber. A small process control computer operates the fans and vents that manage the drying process.
Tom on log loader. The bandsaw mill is used to do custom sawing, such as sawing logs shown in this photo, as well as sawing for our hammock and chair businesses.
Hammock inventory. Our large warehouse holds the raw materials for hammocks as well as other goods. Over the winter quite a lot of finished hammocks waiting to be shipped in the season are accumulated here.
Sawmill electrical. Our band-saw mill has had various managers who've enjoyed decorating the area as well as sawing logs into lumber, women as well as men

Worker's Lounge. A relatively quiet and well-lighted place within the warehouse-woodworking complex to snack and rest. It's not really a saloon.
Sawdust corral. Shavings and dust from woodworking are caught here then used as much in our gardens and for composting.

Located on south side of our main property are several industrial buildings: warehouse, woodworking, sawmill, kilns, etc. The main buildings are called Emerald City & Oz.
