Homemade cheese. Milk from our cows is regularly processed in Llano milk processing kitchen. Besides these Romano cheeses, we make other cheeses, yogurt, butter, etc.

ICSA. Twin Oakers attend the International Communal Studies Association. A chance meeting at a gas station in Illinois of two carpooling vehicles from the conference. African Showboyz performance. Kate invited these folks to stay overnight at Twin Oaks between performances in Charlottesville. They reciprocated by giving a short very lively performance in the Courtyard. July 2004.

Sauna finished. We recently completed a new 200 sq ft wood-fired sauna and are having saunas sometimes several times a week. It's conveniently located right beside our pond; we use scrap wood to heat it. With temperatures below freezing, last night we had a "breaking the ice" sauna. Once people were heated up, they could cool off really fast by breaking the layer of ice on the pond, and jumping in! [Story posted 18 Jan 2004. Photo from warmer fall months, obviously.]
Beaded Twin Oaks hammock. The hammock business remains important to us and Pier One continues as our largest account. This hammock was developed for sale by Pier One at their request. Besides selling our standard green (most popular) we continue to design and sell new hammock styles and models.
Greenhouse completion. Zack, Bill, Apple, and Darwin pull on the second of two plastic covers. There is a small pump that inflates the space between layers.
Cut flowers business. Woody prepares flowers to sell in a farmer's market. This is part of an ambitious ornamentals market garden project. Spring 2004.
Nonviolent communication (NVC). Valerie and Alex are part of the current NVC group that meets weekly. Feb 2004.
